Grow Tourism x Te Haeata - Interview Videography at Hotel Cordis Auckland
New Zealand's business events industry has a new benchmark, and Vantirra was there to help bring it to life on screen.
We partnered with Grow Tourism NZ to produce professional interview videos at Hotel Cordis Auckland, filmed as part of the content library for Te Haeata, New Zealand's first nationally recognised qualification in business events. Developed by Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA) in collaboration with ServiceIQ and Grow Tourism, Te Haeata is a Level 4 Certificate verified by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), designed to build a skilled, confident, and internationally recognised events workforce.
The name Te Haeata means "the Beam of Light", and the content inside it needed to match that ambition.
Why Interview Video Matters for Online Learning
Te Haeata is delivered entirely online, which means every module has to do the work that a classroom, a mentor, or an industry event might otherwise do. Interview videos are one of the most effective tools for this — they put a real face and a real voice to the content, grounding theory in lived industry experience.
When a learner can hear directly from someone who has worked in business events, the content lands differently. It feels credible. It feels human. That's exactly what Grow Tourism was after, and what our role at Vantirra was to capture.
Filming at Hotel Cordis Auckland
Hotel Cordis on Symonds Street is one of Auckland's finest five-star hotels, a venue that carries genuine weight in the New Zealand events and hospitality industry. Choosing Cordis as the filming location wasn't incidental. It placed the interview content in an environment that speaks the same language as the people watching it.
Hugo Chan managed the full on-location setup at Cordis, camera positioning, lighting design, and audio capture, to create a polished, professional interview environment within a real working hospitality space. Filming inside a live hotel requires careful coordination, managing ambient sound and available light while ensuring the subject feels comfortable and the space looks intentional on camera.
The result was a clean, well-composed interview, professional without being sterile, and grounded in the real industry world that Te Haeata learners are training to enter.
