Corporate video production in Auckland costs about NZD $1,300 to $5,000 + GST for a brand film, interview, training or event video, $5,000 to $15,000 + GST for a larger planned campaign film, and $15,000 or more for multi-day campaigns. Short social media reels cost less, from about $200 each. This guide explains what drives the price, what each budget gets you, and how to get more from the money you spend.

The Short Answer

Most Auckland businesses spend somewhere between $1,300 and $15,000 + GST on a corporate video. Where you land depends far more on time than on video length: how long the shoot runs, how many people are on set, and how many hours go into editing.

As a rough guide for 2026:

  • Social media reels: about $200 to $700 + GST per reel.
  • Brand film (a 60 to 120 second brand introduction film, often with photos from the same shoot): from about $1,300 to $5,000 + GST.
  • Interview or training video (half-day shoot, one clean edit): about $1,500 to $5,000 + GST.
  • Event highlight video: about $1,500 to $5,000 + GST.
  • Larger campaign film (a creative concept, a full shoot day or more, a small crew, several cut-downs): about $5,000 to $15,000 + GST.
  • Multi-day campaigns, TV commercials, several locations: $15,000 and up.

Behind those numbers, professional videographers in Auckland typically charge $800 to $2,500 for a shoot day, and editing usually runs $75 to $150 an hour.

What Affects the Price

Planning. A video with a script, storyboard and shot list takes time before anyone picks up a camera. An interview where your team simply answers questions needs much less.

Shoot time. Most studios price in half days and full days. Two hours covers one interview in one room. A full day can cover several interviews, B-roll of your team at work, and a second location.

Crew. One videographer is enough for a single interview. A second camera, a dedicated sound person or a lighting assistant adds cost but changes what the final edit can do.

Locations. Every move between locations eats shoot time. Filming everything at one site is the simplest way to keep costs down.

Editing. This is where most of the hours go. Colour grading, sound mixing, captions, lower-thirds and motion graphics all add editing time. So do rounds of changes.

Deliverables. One master video costs less than a master plus vertical cut-downs for Reels, square versions for LinkedIn and a 15-second teaser. That said, extra cut-downs from footage you already have are usually far cheaper than another shoot.

Music and usage. Licensed music is normally included. Paid advertising, broadcast TV or long-term usage rights can add cost, so mention where the video will run.

What You Get at Different Budgets

Under $1,300 + GST: a short social reel or a simple single-camera recording with a light edit. Good for regular social content, less suited to your main company video.

$1,300 to $5,000 + GST: a half day of filming with a professional videographer, proper audio and lighting, and one or two finished edits. This covers most brand films, interview videos, training modules, testimonials and event highlights.

$5,000 to $15,000 + GST: a larger campaign film with a creative concept, a full shoot day or more, a small crew, cinematic grading and several cut-downs for web and social.

$15,000 + GST and up: multi-day productions, multiple locations, actors or presenters, larger crews and campaign-scale deliverables.

How to Get More From Your Budget

Batch your filming. One shoot day that captures five interviews costs far less than five separate shoots. This is how we approach online learning series, where several modules are filmed back to back.

Plan cut-downs from the start. If the videographer knows you also want Reels and LinkedIn clips, they can frame for vertical and capture extra moments on the day, at little extra cost.

Send a clear brief. Audience, purpose, length, where it will be shown and a reference video you like. A clear brief means fewer revision rounds, and revisions are where budgets quietly grow.

Prepare your people. Send interview questions in advance. Relaxed, prepared speakers need fewer takes, and the edit comes together faster.

A Real Example: Interview Videos for Online Learning

For Grow Tourism NZ, we film interview content for online training modules used across New Zealand's tourism industry. The shoots have taken us from Hotel Britomart and Hotel Cordis to Go Rental at Auckland Airport. Each one is planned so the audio, lighting and look match the rest of the series, which keeps the modules consistent and avoids reshoots.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

  • What is included in the quote: planning, shoot time, editing, music, captions?
  • How many rounds of changes are included?
  • Which versions will we receive (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) and at what length?
  • Can we use the video anywhere, including paid ads?
  • Who owns the raw footage, and can we get it later?
  • What is the turnaround from shoot day to final delivery?

Frequently asked questions

How much does a corporate video cost in Auckland?
Most corporate videos in Auckland cost between $1,300 and $15,000 + GST in 2026. A brand film, half-day interview or training video sits near the lower end, and a larger campaign film with a full shoot day or more sits in the middle. Multi-day campaigns cost $15,000 or more.

How much does a video cost per minute?
Video is rarely priced by the minute of finished film. Cost follows time: planning, shoot hours, crew and editing. A polished 60-second brand film can cost more than a 10-minute training video, because the short film needs more planning, shooting and editing per second.

Are corporate video prices quoted with GST?
Business video is usually quoted + GST. If your company is GST-registered, you can normally claim the GST back, so the price before GST is the real cost to your business.

How long does a corporate video take to make?
A social media reel can be turned around in 3 to 5 business days. An interview video, training module or brand film usually takes 2 to 4 weeks from shoot day to final delivery, depending on revisions.

Do we need a script?
Not always. Interview videos work best with prepared questions rather than a script. Brand films and explainers usually need a script or at least a clear outline, which your production team can help write.
