Some weddings feel like they were made for a particular place. Mia and Joe's was one of them.

Tirau sits in the heart of the Waikato, a small town known for its corrugated iron sculptures, its unhurried pace, and the kind of warm community character that big cities rarely hold onto. It was the perfect backdrop for a wedding day full of genuine emotion, laughter, and the kind of moments that deserve to be captured properly.

Vantirra was honoured to be Mia and Joe's photography and videography team for the day.

Full Coverage, from Start to Finish

Hugo and Chi worked together across the entire day, covering photography and video simultaneously from the quiet preparation moments right through to the ceremony and reception celebration. Having both formats handled by one studio meant seamless coordination throughout - no crossed wires between separate teams, no missed moments while one was busy and the other wasn't watching.

The result is a consistent visual story across every deliverable. The photos and the film feel like they belong together, because they were made together.

The Photography

Tirau's natural landscape gave Chi a beautiful palette to work with. The warm tones, open skies, and character of the location all fed into a gallery that feels genuinely connected to the place where Mia and Joe chose to get married.

Chi's approach to wedding photography is rooted in capturing what's real. The candid laughter between friends, the quiet moment before the ceremony, the look exchanged across the room during the speeches. These are the images that couples return to years later, the ones that carry the full weight of the day in a single frame.

The finished gallery reflects Mia and Joe exactly as they are - warm, joyful, and completely at ease with each other.

The Cinematic Wedding Film

Hugo's role was to build the film that ties the whole day together. Not a recording, a story.

The final wedding film is edited with care and set to music, designed to carry Mia and Joe back to exactly how that day felt every time they watch it. The ceremony, the vows, the celebration, the smaller details that can slip from memory over time - all of it preserved in a format that does justice to what the day actually meant.

Cinematic wedding videography is about more than pointing a camera at the right moments. It's about understanding the rhythm of a day, anticipating what's coming, and editing the final film so that the emotion lands the same way it did in real life.
