Mia & Joe
As night settled in, Joe joined the band and filled the evening with music. It was the end of a cosy, joy-filled day in Tirau, and we were there for all of it.
Mia and Joe were married at Tirau Community Church, in a small Waikato town known for its corrugated iron sculptures and its unhurried pace. A pianist played during the ceremony. There was a kiss on a tree-lined road, bridesmaids in pastel dresses, groomsmen in braces, and a bright moment among white paper parasols.
Hugo and Chi worked side by side all day, covering photos and film at the same time, from the quiet preparation through the ceremony to the reception. One studio meant no crossed wires and no missed moments. Hugo then edited the film to carry Mia and Joe back to how the day felt: the vows, the celebration, and the small details that can slip from memory over time. The film was released in February 2025.
