Grow Tourism x Akiaki: Online Module Video, North Shore

Vantirra's work with Grow Tourism NZ spans multiple shoots across Auckland, and this session at Beehive on the North Shore was another chapter in that ongoing collaboration. Filmed as part of the Akiaki sustainability training series, this interview video was produced for one of Grow Tourism's online learning modules - content designed to put real industry voices in front of New Zealand's tourism and hospitality workforce.

Akiaki is a free online training programme built for anyone in the sector, from frontline team members to managers and business owners. Each module draws on real-world examples and case studies from across the New Zealand tourism industry, giving learners practical, on-the-ground knowledge rather than theory. This shoot contributed another case study to that library.

The Location: Beehive North Shore

Beehive on Auckland's North Shore is a professional, creative space that works well as a filming environment. It has the kind of clean, considered interior that sits comfortably on screen - professional without being corporate, and relaxed enough to help interview subjects settle into the conversation naturally.

For online learning content, the environment matters. Viewers are watching on laptops and phones, often in between tasks, and a space that feels authentic and professional helps keep attention where it belongs - on the person speaking.

The Production

Hugo Chan managed the full setup on location at Beehive, handling camera placement, lighting, and audio capture to create a controlled interview environment within the space. The goal with any module shoot like this is consistency - the production quality needs to match the wider Akiaki series so that content feels cohesive across every module, regardless of where it was filmed or who was in front of the camera.

The final interview was delivered ready for integration into Grow Tourism's online learning platform - clean, well-paced, and built to hold attention.

Building a Training Video Series

This shoot sits alongside other Akiaki module productions Vantirra has completed for Grow Tourism, including sessions at Hotel Britomart and Hotel Cordis Auckland.
