Cherry Blossom 2026
Japan's Blossom, New Zealand's Green
Spring, Among Friends
For most people, cherry blossom belongs to Japan. Crowded parks in Tokyo, picnics under a pink canopy, a few short weeks each spring.
Seeing it here in New Zealand still feels like a privilege. The blossom is the same, but everything around it is different. The grass is a deeper green, the trees behind are thick and leafy, and the spring light is clear and bright. Together they give the flowers a feeling of their own, softer and more relaxed than the postcards from Japan.
This album is a little different from our client work. On a sunny spring afternoon, the Vantirra team took our cameras out with our friends, for no reason other than that the trees were in full bloom.
We don't treat photography as just a job. It is something we genuinely love, and sometimes the best way to keep that feeling is to shoot simply for the joy of it: good friends, good light, and petals in every frame.
