Cornwall Park Family Reunion
Three Generations, Back Together
Home for a While
Some of the siblings had flown back from overseas, and for a short while the whole family was in Auckland at the same time. That does not happen often, so they wanted it on camera.
We met at Cornwall Park on a winter morning, under the wide old trees. Grandma at the centre, her children and their partners around her, and the grandkids on a picnic blanket, mostly cooperating.
We started with the big group, then let it break into smaller moments: mothers and daughters arm in arm, sisters cheek to cheek, cousins side by side on the grass, a couple hiding behind a tree trunk.
When a family lives in different countries, getting everyone in one place takes planning. When it finally happens, it deserves photos that last longer than the visit.
