A phone screen, a thumb ready to scroll, and a few seconds to make someone stop. That is the space this film was made for.
This is a short vertical advertisement for Grow Tourism, which builds skills across New Zealand's tourism industry through training, resources and online learning. The ad is about a course for people who are serious about working in tourism. It sets out what the course is and who it is for, in the few seconds an ad gets.
A short ad has very little room. Every shot has to earn its place, and the message has to land before the viewer scrolls on. The vertical frame shapes each scene too: people and text sit in the centre, and wide views are framed differently. We produced it in Auckland, as one of many projects with Grow Tourism.
